Expierience
Necessary experience can vary depending on the type of production you are interested in getting involved with.
Community Theater
Though prior experience is beneficial it is not a requirement
This is strictly volunteer-based; there is no pay involved.
Regional Theater
Prior experience is typically required, however, there is a slight possibility a novice could be cast if they are exactly what the director is looking for.
Equity Theater
Being cast in an equity theater, though not absolutely impossible, is extremely rare. Both extensive experience, as well as education, is the best way to procure a role in an equity show.
